Chelsea Kreielsheimer Recognized as Light Collective’s 40 Under 40
Atelier Ten is proud to announce that Sr. Lighting Designer, Chelsea Kreielsheimer, was recognized as one of Light Collective’s 40 Under 40 for 2023! The award distinguishes outstanding young individuals who stand out in their application of lighting in architecture and is well deserved.
Since joining Atelier Ten in 2020, Chelsea has leveraged her cross disciplinary background in architecture, interior design and lighting to marry visual impact with occupant experience in her projects. She is a specialist in circadian lighting for wellness, lighting for outdoor spaces, office design, and interior design.
As a leader in sustainable lighting design, Chelsea guides Atelier Ten’s most ambitious projects with a focus on sustainability and human centered design. She led the lighting design for Europe’s largest coastal park project, Ellinikon, which is one of the first projects to include lighting manufacturer specific product life cycle information in project LCA for its path to carbon neutrality. As the lead lighting designer on the Amazon HQ, Chelsea seamlessly aligned the lighting with sustainability and LEED Platinum goals, creating an innovative and environmentally responsible workspace.
Chelsea is passionate about pushing the lighting industry toward a more sustainable future. She recently published “Illuminating Embodied Carbon: The Need for New Metrics in Lighting Design,” is deeply involved in the Life Cycle Assessment Incubator with Green Light Alliance, is the DEIR Committee Co-Chair of Women in Lighting + Design (WILD) and influences the next generation of lighting designers through various lectures, workshops and presentations.
Congratulations Chelsea, we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!
