Atelier Ten US Staff Promotions
Atelier Ten is pleased to announce the promotion of Shivani Shah to Associate and James Perakis to Senior Environmental Designer.
Shivani Shah, LEED AP, CPHD has been appointed Associate of the New York office. She joined Atelier Ten in 2006 and has over a decade of experience in the field of high-performance building design. As an expert in building energy analysis, including the optimization of high-performance building envelope and mechanical systems, Shivani has worked on a variety of university, cultural, commercial, and residential buildings. She focuses on the development of in house analysis tools, facade optimization, and passive systems. Shivani’s current work includes a net-positive energy targeted charter school in Chicago and the expansion of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. She holds a M.S. in Building Design from the Arizona State University, and a B. Arch. from Kamla Raheja Vidhyanidhi Institute for Architecture and Environmental Studies in India. She is a Registered Architect in India, a Certified Passive House Designer, and a LEED Accredited Professional.
James Perakis, LEED AP, CPHC has been appointed Senior Environmental Designer of the New York office. As a key member of Atelier Ten’s planning practice, James has expertise in sustainable masterplan and framework development, and building environmental strategies. His wide range of project experience includes cultural, institutional and commercial high-rise buildings, for which he also has developed a number of in-house analysis tools to evaluate energy efficiency and occupant comfort. Most notably, James has played an integral role in developing long term sustainability plans for two museums in New York City and emissions forecasting tools for several universities in the northeast. He holds a M.U.P. from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University and a B.S. in Architecture from University of Virginia. He is a LEED Accredited Professional, and a Certified Passive House Consultant.
