Atelier Ten takes home three awards at the 2025 Scottish Property Awards

We are delighted to announce that Atelier Ten has won three awards at the 2025 Scottish Property Awards!

Perth Museum won the Small Regeneration Project of the Year Award

The Perth Museum opened in March 2024 after a £27 million redevelopment project. The world-class cultural and heritage attraction highlights stories and objects from Perth’s rich history. The centrepiece of the new museum is the Stone of Destiny, which returns to Perthshire for the first time in 700 years.

Atelier Ten provided environmental and building services engineering design. Our design approach included the development of close control solutions for a museum environment, daylight analysis to inform artefact placement and shading strategies. Detailed thermal analysis was carried out to enhance the existing fabric. We developed fabric-integrated building services throughout the listed interior, closely coordinating solutions that are sympathetic to the retained listed elements.

Transforming the building into a modern cultural attraction allows the client to deliver on one of the key themes of the Perth City Plan: Smart Growth for Perth City, to expand the visitor economy of Perth. The museum will be a major new venue, displaying its own museum and art collections alongside iconic loans from elsewhere and touring exhibitions from the UK and abroad.

The Lost Shore Surf Resort won the Architectural Excellence Award (Public Use)

Lost Shore Surf Resort is an exciting new adventure leisure destination, positioning Scotland as a leading surfing hub. Located at Craigpark Quarry near Ratho, it offers a fully controlled environment with Wavegarden Cove technology, ideal for beginners and professionals alike. The 48,500 m² facility accommodates up to 100 surfers per hour and features a surf school, shop, café, and varied accommodation, including pods, and lodges.

Atelier Ten delivered building services, fire engineering and environmental design for this project. Committed to sustainability, we designed an innovative energy strategy to “deliver waves from wind and sun,” ensuring a low-energy, eco-conscious approach across the entire site

Edinburgh Futures Institute won the Development of the Year Award (Public Buildings)

The project involved restoring the Category A-listed Old Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh into the Edinburgh Futures Institute, a hub for multidisciplinary collaboration, data-led innovation, education, research, and partnership. The building features state-of-the-art teaching facilities, co-working spaces for industry partners, business incubation areas, innovation and prototyping labs, and exhibition and performance spaces.

Atelier Ten provided strategic fire engineering advice throughout the building warrant process, offering performance-based solutions to support the design. To enhance flexibility, the fire strategy incorporated alternative solutions for means of escape and external fire spread. Fire and smoke modeling was used to ensure the safe evacuation of occupants.

These awards underscore our commitment to sustainable and innovative design, enhancing Scotland’s cultural and recreational landscapes.
