Contemporary Architectural Responses in the Middle East with Paul Stoller

Paul Stoller, Director, will be joined by Anthony Fieldman of Perkins+Will; Hana Kassem of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates; Gordon Carrie of Arup; and Moderator, Louise Harpman, Clinical Associate Professor of Architecture, Urban Design, and Sustainability of NYU, to discuss contemporary architectural responses in the Middle East.  This panel will take place at AIA New York –The Center for Architecture on March 1, 2012. 

Titled Culture and Climate: Contemporary Architectural Response in the Middle East, the panel will present current work in the Middle East, addressing each project’s context and what makes building in the Middle East of the present place and time. From the perspective of foreign architects and engineers working in the region, their dialogue will focus on the approach to responsive and responsible design in the Middle East.  Paul will discuss the environmental challenges and opportunities associating buildings projects in the Middle East particular concerns related to  climate condition, and energy and resource conservation.
