Kohler Environmental Center – Choate Rosemary Hall entered for WAN AWARD – Sustainable Building of the Year
Kohler Environmental Center, a LEED Platinum teaching, research and residential environment that embodies the highest level of sustainable design, has been entered for the World Architectural News Award (WAN AWARD).
Atelier Ten collaborated with Robert A.M. Stern Architects and helped shape the environmental center into a model of sustainable and energy efficient design that demonstrates the school’s mission to promote environmental understanding, land stewardship, and social responsibility.
The WAN AWARDS Sustainability category is a major international competition and is the culmination of a six bi-monthly ”Excellence in Design” series by sector for 2012. The award celebrates the best use of sustainability in architecture, and attracts entries from all over the world.
In addition, every entry to the WAN AWARDS will automatically be entered for the ECO AWARDS. This will draw entries from all award sectors and categories to make it the largest and most comprehensive sustainable awards in architecture.
