Patrick Bellew to receive Lifetime Achievement Awards from CTBUH
We are delighted to announce that our founding director, Patrick Bellew, has been announced as the recipient of the 2023 Fazlur R. Khan Lifetime Achievement Award by the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
This award celebrates an individual for demonstrated excellence in technical design and/or research that makes a significant contribution to the design of tall buildings and the built urban environment.
Drawing on Patrick’s extensive experience in environmental building design, it’s great to see CTBUH recognise the “vibrancy” that exists in the ideas of the integration of environmental and building systems in the field of sustainable vertical urbanism.
Receiving an award alongside Patrick, is Carol Willis, founder and director of The Skyscraper Museum, in New York City, who was the recipient of the 2023 Lynn S. Beedle Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognises an individual who has made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban environment.
Patrick and Carol will receive their awards and deliver presentations at CTBUH’s annual international conference, Humanizing High Density: People, Nature & the Urban Realm, taking place October 16-21, in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
Returning to the region of some of Atelier Ten’s most prominent projects, Patrick will deliver the closing keynote presentation “Living Environments: Building Systems Around Nature and High-Performance” and will talk through these ideas in conjunction with projects including Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay and the Jewel Changi Airport as well as the now-under-construction Google Headquarters, in London.
