Caspersen Student Center, Harvard Law School, Harvard University
with Robert A.M. Stern Architects
Atelier Ten guided the environmental design of Harvard’s new Law School Student Center, which will provide much needed central space for the law school campus, and will further contribute to Harvard’s greenhouse gas emissions reductions goal.
Atelier Ten explored several options for maximizing building performance, including integrating thermo-active walls, geothermal heating or cooling, chilled beams, a vegetated roof, and an HVAC system with heat recovery.
Atelier Ten also advised on strategies for reducing resource consumption, including a solar hot water system, a comprehensive stormwater management plan, and extensive daylighting.
