Working with a PFI Consortium led by Kajima Construction, the project involved the replacement of an existing collection of Victorian to 1960s buildings which housed a 1500-pupil secondary school while keeping the school open and functioning.
Phase 1 saw the construction of 64 classrooms and laboratories. Phase 2 the hall, recreational and dining facilities. The school is designed as a low-energy building and incorporates high performance façades and natural stack cross-ventilators.
