One of the largest redevelopments in San Francisco, Hunter’s Point Shipyard and Candlestick Point is a new mixed-use neighborhood on the waterfront, with a LEED-ND Gold target.
Atelier Ten created a strategy for LEED-ND certification for Hunter’s Point Shipyard and Candlestick Point. Our challenge was to create a clear path for certification despite the project’s long timeline (a build-out of more than twenty years) and new versions of LEED that will arise during this period.
We determined which phases of the project should be certified together, and how the complex site boundary would impact certification. We then issued design guidelines for use on each phase of the project, to inform the many different design and construction teams at work on site. This work will guide this large project to LEED-ND Gold certification.
