Aiming to be an exemplar in university lab buildings, this project is designed to use about 34% less energy than a typical laboratory project, exceeding the State’s green building requirements.
Uniting the disparate departments within the college, the Pharmacy Research Building consists of laboratories and support spaces, offices, graduate student work areas, and a central atrium. Atelier Ten provided analyses to help the project meet the State’s energy and LEED requirements; in addition, we helped to develop a comprehensive water conservation scheme to meet the University’s goal for water reduction. It is anticipated that Skaggs will use about 79% less domestic water than a comparable building.
