Atelier Ten brings sustainable living to San Francisco’s waterfront with this LEED Gold, luxury condominium. Atelier Ten provided sustainability consulting to integrate high-performance building elements to meet LEED
criteria and enhance occupant comfort.
The bayfront condominium building in San Francisco is located in a dense neighborhood with access to many services including diverse public transportation options and on-site car sharing and electric vehicle charging.
Atelier Ten led the LEED process guiding the design and construction team in meeting the City’s stringent sustainability goals. The building uses high reflectance roof materials and vegetation on the upper floors to prevent heat gain. Solar water heaters on the roof provide renewable energy, saving 250,000 pounds of CO2 emissions compared to a gas boiler.
In a region impacted by drought, the project incorporates efficifient fixtures to limit the amount of potable water used for sinks and showers. All flush fixtures and irrigation use non-potable water sources, and the on-site greywater treatment system provides nonpotable water and reduces the project’s reliance on municipal systems.
