Pacific Quay Masterplan

This project was secured through the Buying Solutions framework after successfully competing for the Rutherglen Low Carbon Zone Masterplan.

This landmark masterplan development is located to the south west of Glasgow City Centre on the southern bank of the River Clyde and is part of the larger development of Pacific Quay.

The site extends to 10.49 ha (25.92 acres) and split into two sites which are intersected by Pacific Drive. Site 1, which is adjacent the canting basin, was planned for offices to complement the existing media activates on the site which include BBC and STV. Site 2 accommodates residential, commercial and hotel.

As part of Atelier Ten’s commission we carried out an energy study which involves energy mapping of existing and proposed developments on the site. A micro climate analysis highlighted the site’s environmental attributes before investigating the potential for district heating, Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and also Trigeneration for the site.

The main portion of work included the design and installation of new water, gas, electricity, telecomms and street lighting infrastructure.
