Painshill Visitors Centre
with Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios
Painshill Park is a fine example of a Victorian Garden originally designed by The Honourable Charles Hamilton in the 18th Century and currently owned by Painshill Park Trust.
Partly funded by Heritage Lottery Fund Grant, this visitors centre is a large timber structure and contains a shop, information area, café and toilets with an educational facility all linked by a covered walkway.
In keeping with its surroundings, the Centre is designed using sustainable solutions where possible, The main spaces are naturally cross-ventilated and well daylit with sun-shading where required to eliminate the need for air conditioning.
Thermal insulation levels are high and all materials have been obtained from sustainability managed sources.
