The new state-of-the-art performing arts center, SKyPAC, provides the community of Bowling Green with an 1,800 seat flexible proscenium theater suitable for traveling and national orchestral, dramatic, and musical performances as well as supporting spaces for community functions.
Atelier Ten’s lighting design accentuates the building’s exuberant entrance arcade and lobby to draw attention to this popular destination. Enormous chandeliers, evocative of magnolia blossoms, playfully welcome audience members. The sparkle of balcony-front sconces add a theatrical flourish.
Sustainable design features include low-energy lighting, energy-efficient mechanical systems, native vegetation, and environmentally-preferable materials, many of them sourced locally, for this important civic building. Atelier Ten assisted the interdisciplinary team through the design and construction phases of this facility which is LEED Silver certified.
