The city of Sunnyvale Civic Center has been designed with the ambitious goals of Net Zero Energy and LEED Platinum. Atelier Ten worked with the team during concept to establish project goals, define building massing and establish a pathway to Net Zero Energy.
Atelier Ten engaged with Sunnyvale community members to develop a sustainable design strategy for the Masterplan and Civic Center building. The team focused on passive building design, resilience and renewable energy systems as key development drivers. To achieve their goals of net zero energy and LEED Platinum, the team designed a high performance facade that optimizes natural daylight, increases thermal and visual comfort, and reduces electrical lighting energy consumption.
In addition, Atelier Ten led the LEED Administration process to guide the project in achieving its LEED Platinum goal.
